Cookeville, TN โ€“ A 24-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in Putnam County has been arrested in Arkansas following a multi-state investigation, according to the Putnam County Sheriffโ€™s Office.

According to Sheriff Eddie Farris, detectives received a report on August 24, 2024, that an adult male had allegedly climbed into a teenage girlโ€™s bedroom window and forced her to have sex. Detectives began investigating immediately and identified the suspect as Juan Ivan Ramirez-Alvarez, who was reportedly in a relationship with the victim.

While investigators worked to confirm his identity, Ramirez-Alvarez allegedly fled to Arkansas. Detective Sergeant Mark Boyer later located the suspect, and U.S. Marshals assisted with his arrest in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

The Putnam County Sheriffโ€™s Office Warrants Division transported Ramirez-Alvarez back to Tennessee, where he was booked into the Putnam County Jail. He is charged with one count of Aggravated Statutory Rape and is being held on a $150,000 bond.
