Pueblo, CO – Southern Colorado residents can expect another cool and cloudy day Tuesday, with continued showers and thunderstorms across the southern plains and mountain regions, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

Forecasters said conditions will remain similar to Monday, with most of the region staying below normal temperatures. Highs will range from the upper 50s to low 70s depending on elevation.

According to the National Weather Service, the plains will stay mostly cloudy through the afternoon, while the San Luis Valley should see sunny and breezy weather, though winds are expected to be lighter than yesterday. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible from Trinidad and La Junta to Canon City and Alamosa.

A gradual warming trend is expected later this week. Meteorologists noted that “a return to above normal temperatures is likely through the second half of the work week,” with highs climbing back into the upper 70s and low 80s by Thursday and Friday.

Residents planning outdoor activities are advised to monitor local radar for quick-developing afternoon storms, particularly in mountain areas and open plains.
