Cleveland, OH – A cold front moving east across northern Ohio is expected to bring two rounds of rain and isolated thunderstorms today, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Cleveland.

Meteorologists said the first round of showers will pass through this morning, followed by another system this afternoon and early evening. Rainfall totals are forecast to range between 1 and 1.25 inches, with locally higher amounts possible in some areas.

According to the NWS, the best chance for isolated thunderstorms will occur during the afternoon hours, before conditions gradually improve later tonight. Showers will taper off from west to east overnight as high pressure builds into the region.

By Wednesday, seasonably cool and dry weather will return, bringing highs in the 60s and lower humidity after the front moves through. Drivers are urged to watch for slick roads and reduced visibility during the heaviest rain bands, particularly during the evening commute.

Residents across Cleveland, Akron, and surrounding counties should monitor updated forecasts for any rainfall changes or thunderstorm developments through the day.
