Porter County, IN – Motorists traveling through Porter County on I-94 should prepare for significant traffic changes starting Tuesday, July 30. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announced lane reductions between U.S. 20 and State Road 49, expected to continue through late November, as part of a bridge deck overlay preventative maintenance project.

According to INDOT, the project will be divided into three phases. The initial phase will see the left shoulder and lane closed for construction, causing I-94 to be reduced to two lanes in each direction. The second phase, starting in mid-September, will shift the closures to the right shoulder and lane. The final phase, beginning in early October, will focus on bridge painting work.
