Columbus, OH – Ohio State University (OSU) issued a public safety alert Tuesday after a campus-area shooting early in the morning.
A Columbus Division of Police officer responded to gunfire near Chittenden Avenue and North Pearl Alley around 1 a.m. Tuesday. No suspects or victims have been identified.
According to the OSU Department of Public Safety, camera footage captured two individuals in a white Nissan Maxima engaging with two individuals on motorbikes. Shots were fired from the passenger side of the car towards the motorbike riders. The gunfire caused property damage, shattering a university office window on East 11th Avenue. No injuries were reported, and all involved vehicles fled the scene.
CPD is leading the investigation with assistance from OSUPD. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact CPD at 614-645-4545.
