Downers Grove, IL – A 24-year-old man has died after a reported shooting Friday evening in a residential area of Downers Grove, Illinois.
According to the Village of Downers Grove Police Department, officers responded around 6:51 p.m. to the 2100 block of Prentiss Drive following a report of a person shot. Preliminary findings indicate that the victim and another man were involved in an altercation with a third man when multiple gunshots were allegedly fired.
The victim, whose identity is being withheld pending family notification, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police stated that all parties involved were known to each other and emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the general public. As of Saturday morning, no arrests had been made and no suspects were in custody.
