Hudson, NH – A Nashua man was found dead Sunday morning after falling into Beaver Brook in Hudson while fishing, prompting a multi-agency response and an ongoing investigation led by state authorities.
According to the New Hampshire State Police – Marine Patrol, first responders were dispatched at approximately 9:25 a.m. Sunday to Beaver Brook near Sullivan Road following reports that a man had fallen into the water and gone missing.
The victim, identified as 65-year-old John Coutu of Nashua, was located deceased less than an hour later. The New Hampshire Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded to the scene. Officials confirmed the man was not wearing a life jacket at the time he entered the water.
Multiple agencies assisted in the recovery operation, including the Hudson Police and Fire Departments, Windham Police and Fire, Pelham Police and Fire, Derry Police, Nashua Fire Rescue, and the State Police – Marine Patrol.
Authorities stated the incident appears to be an accidental drowning and no foul play is suspected at this time, though the case remains under investigation.
