Philadelphia Crash/Shooting on I-95 Leaves Two Injured Early Saturday Morning

Philadelphia, PA – Two men were hospitalized following an early Saturday morning crash and shooting on I-95 northbound in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, troopers responded to a crash near mile marker 28.4, between Bridge Street and Cottman Avenue, at approximately 2:30 a.m. on March 29. Investigators discovered two damaged vehicles on the roadway and are searching for a third vehicle that allegedly fled before police arrived.

A 2009 Acura TL was found abandoned in the right lane with rear-end damage and multiple bullet holes. The driver, a 26-year-old man from Philadelphia, had been transported to the hospital prior to police arrival with a gunshot wound to his upper leg.

Behind the Acura, police located a 1984 red Ford Mustang with front-end damage and bullet holes in the windshield. Its driver, a 21-year-old man from Levittown, allegedly sustained a gunshot wound to the head. His condition remains unknown. A 21-year-old passenger from Smyrna, Delaware, was also hospitalized for crash-related injuries.

I-95 northbound was closed for several hours during the investigation. Authorities urge anyone with information to contact PSP Philadelphia Station or submit an anonymous tip through the PSP Tips platform.
