Peoria, IL – A woman was stabbed early Monday on the 2100 block of S. Oregon Street. Peoria Police responded to a call at approximately 4:30 a.m. and found an adult female with a stab wound to her left side. The victim was rushed to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the Peoria Police Department, officers canvassed the area and located the crime scene at the same address. During their investigation, police identified 37-year-old Michael J. Childs as the suspect. Childs resisted when officers tried to arrest him but was eventually taken into custody without further incident.
Childs was charged with aggravated domestic battery and resisting arrest. He was transported to the Peoria County Jail, where he awaits further proceedings.
