Peoria, IL – The Peoria Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a 59-year-old woman who has been reported missing and is considered at risk due to medical conditions.
According to the Peoria Police Department, Shirley J. Baptist, 59, was last seen by family members at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Investigators said she was later captured on video in East Peoria at approximately 9 p.m. Sunday.
Police said Baptist has been diagnosed with dementia and has several other non-life-threatening medical conditions, raising concerns for her well-being.
She is described as a white female, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds, with long gray hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark-colored top, dark pants, and black shoes.
Authorities are urging anyone who has seen Shirley Baptist or knows where she may be to contact Peoria Police Detective Rodgers at (309) 494-8357. Information can also be reported by calling 9-1-1.
The investigation remains ongoing.
