Peoria, IL – A 32-year-old man was hospitalized after a shooting early Sunday on South Western Avenue. Peoria police responded around 1:29 a.m. to a ShotSpotter alert indicating six gunshots.
Officers arrived at the 600 block of South Western but did not locate any victims or suspects initially. According to Peoria Police, a short time later, they learned the man had been transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Officers found a crime scene in the area where the ShotSpotter alert originated. Currently, no suspect information is available, and the investigation is ongoing.
