Pittsburgh, PA – A chilly Saturday morning saw temperatures dip into the 30s across much of western Pennsylvania and northern West Virginia, but residents can expect a sharp rebound into the 70s by mid-afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, early morning lows ranged from 35°F in Davis, West Virginia, to 42°F in Pittsburgh. However, a steady rise begins by 10 a.m., with temperatures expected to climb into the upper 60s and low 70s between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Cities like New Castle, Wheeling, and Coshocton are on track to reach 74°F or higher.

By noon, most locations—like Mercer, Latrobe, and Carrollton—will be comfortably in the 60s, thanks to abundant sunshine and calm winds. Pittsburgh is forecast to hit 73°F by 3 p.m., a near 30-degree swing from the morning low. While no severe weather is expected, the wide temperature gap may lead to brief morning frost concerns in sheltered valleys and rural spots.

Residents are advised to dress in layers, stay hydrated, and take advantage of the mild afternoon for outdoor activities. Temperatures will gradually fall into the 50s after sunset.

This unseasonably warm pattern will continue into Sunday, with more sunshine and highs in the low 70s expected region-wide.
