Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms could dampen parts of southwestern Pennsylvania today, especially south and east of the Pittsburgh metro area, but most of the region will stay dry.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, the best chance for rain and thunder will occur Thursday afternoon and evening across counties like Fayette, Greene, and Somerset. Daytime highs will reach into the upper 60s and low 70s, while overnight lows dip into the 40s and 50s. Rain chances diminish after sunset as the system exits to the east.

By Friday, partly sunny skies and cooler temperatures—highs in the low 60s—will give way to a stretch of dry, calm weather. Sunny conditions are expected Saturday through Monday with daytime highs climbing steadily from the 60s into the low 80s by early next week. Winds will remain light, and no major weather disruptions are anticipated.

Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware today if traveling in the southern counties, but weekend plans look safe for outdoor activities.

More updates will be issued if thunderstorm coverage increases, but no watches or warnings are currently in effect.
