Pennsylvania Motorcyclist Killed in I-95 Crash Sunday

New Castle, DE – A Pennsylvania man was killed in a fatal motorcycle crash this morning on I-95 southbound near Basin Road. The accident, involving a Honda CBR 1000RR, occurred around 8:35 a.m.

The 26-year-old rider from Douglasville, PA, was part of a group of motorcyclists traveling together. He accelerated to pass them but lost control of his bike shortly after. The motorcycle’s rear tire locked up, causing it to skid. The bike fell onto its side, and the rider was ejected.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.

According to Delaware State Police, the roadway was closed for five hours while the Troop 2 Collision Reconstruction Unit cleared the scene. Investigators are asking for any witnesses to contact Cpl. D. McKenna at (302) 365-8486.
