According to the National Weather Service’s Mount Holly office, the Philadelphia region entered a moderate drought. The combination of dry fuels, low relative humidity, and occasional gusty winds is contributing to a heightened fire risk. Residents are advised to check for burn restrictions with local municipalities and avoid outdoor burning.
Thursday’s Weather Outlook
Thursday’s forecast indicates sunny skies with a high near 66°F. Winds from the north are expected to be between 5 and 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The combination of sunny skies and strong winds is likely to extend the current fire warnings. By Thursday night, the temperature is expected to dip to a low of 44°F, with winds decreasing.
Five-Day Extended Forecast
Looking ahead, Friday and Saturday will continue to bring mostly clear skies. Friday’s high will be around 66°F, and temperatures will drop to 51°F at night. Saturday will see highs reaching 70°F, with similar dry conditions expected. By Sunday, a cold front will pass through, dropping temperatures to 60°F during the day and bringing cooler nights as low as 38°F.
