Lake County Sheriff Charges Lakemoor Resident in Connection to February Fatal Overdose

Lakemoor, IL – A Lakemoor man faces drug-induced homicide charges after an investigation into the February overdose death of a 23-year-old woman from Spring Grove.

Authorities responded to a residence on February 9, 2024, after reports of an unresponsive person. The woman, found unconscious, was transported to a hospital in McHenry County but later pronounced dead. Detectives identified the cause as a drug overdose. Investigations reportedly revealed that Marcus Lejsner, 22, allegedly supplied the fatal drugs.

According to Lake County detectives, both Lejsner and the victim took the drugs before falling asleep. Lejsner discovered her unresponsive the next morning but reportedly left without seeking help. The victim’s family later found her and called 911.

Following a joint investigation, the McHenry County State’s Attorney approved charges of drug-induced homicide. Lejsner was arrested on October 22, 2024, and faces a court hearing later today.
