Milwaukee, WI – Residents in southern Wisconsin should prepare for rain starting Thursday night, which could affect weekend plans and travel on major highways like I-94. The National Weather Service forecasts rain beginning late Thursday, with showers continuing into Friday. The heaviest rainfall is expected overnight Thursday, and scattered showers may persist through Friday morning.

According to the US National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan, a cold front will bring meaningful precipitation to the area. With a 90% chance of rain Thursday night, new precipitation totals could reach up to a quarter of an inch. Commuters and travelers should be cautious, as roads may become slick due to wet conditions, especially during early Friday morning.

Temperatures will also drop significantly over the weekend, with highs only reaching the mid-50s on Friday and Saturday. Residents can expect cooler, breezy conditions, with winds gusting up to 20 mph. While the rain will taper off by Friday afternoon, the cooler temperatures will continue through the weekend, impacting outdoor activities. However, conditions are expected to improve by Sunday with a sunny day and highs near 59°F.
