Palos Heights Man Arrested After Alleged Route 6 Vehicle Hijacking, Attacks Officers in Marseilles

Marseilles, IL – A Palos Heights man is facing multiple charges after allegedly attacking officers during a stolen vehicle incident in Marseilles on October 4th. Police responded to reports of a vehicular hijacking on U.S. Route 6, where the stolen car had crashed and was possibly on fire.

When officers arrived, they confronted the suspect, Frank C. Lennon, who refused to comply with orders to show his hands. Lennon allegedly attempted to walk past an officer, ignoring commands. He then reportedly attacked the officer before a second officer arrived to assist in subduing him.

According to police, Lennon has been charged with criminal damage to state property, aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated resisting, and attempted motor vehicle theft of a police car. He also faces charges of disarming a peace officer.

The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the initial motor vehicle theft. Lennon was taken to LaSalle County Jail and later released on pretrial conditions on October 7 at 9:54 a.m.
