Cottage Grove, OR — A man wanted for the murder of a Cottage Grove woman was arrested in Portland on Saturday, October 5th. Authorities identified the suspect as Anthony Wesley Tyrrell, 31, of Cottage Grove, after a June investigation uncovered the body of Rozaleena Faith Rasmussen, 29. Rasmussen had been reported missing before being found in Cottage Grove.
A nationwide warrant was issued for Tyrrell on charges of second-degree murder. According to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, detectives tracked Tyrrell to Portland, where the Portland Police Bureau arrested him on the outstanding warrant. Tyrrell also faces unrelated local charges from the Portland incident.
Tyrrell remains in custody at Multnomah County Jail while detectives continue their investigation. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office thanked multiple agencies, including the Portland Police Bureau, the FBI, and U.S. Marshals Service, for their assistance in apprehending Tyrrell.
Detectives are still working on the case as they pursue further leads.
