Orland Park, IL – The Orland Fire Protection District is hosting a free “Stop the Bleed” class on Saturday, January 18, from 9 a.m. to noon. The class will be held at the OFPD Training Facility, 10728 West 163rd Street, Orland Park.
The grant-funded course, known as the Bleeding Control Basic (B-Con) class, is designed for individuals with little or no medical training. Participants will learn how to provide trauma care and bleeding control in emergencies until medical professionals arrive.
According to the Orland Fire Protection District, the course is a collaboration between the American College of Surgeons and the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. Each student will receive a free bleeding control kit upon completion.
Registration closes Friday, January 10. Interested individuals are encouraged to secure their spot early as space is limited.
