Medford, OR – Heavy rain is causing significant flooding concerns across southwestern Oregon and into northwestern California, with small streams, creeks, and rivers expected to overflow. Urban flooding and landslides are also a risk, especially in areas of steep terrain.

According to the National Weather Service Medford, flood warnings, advisories, and watches are in effect through late evening. Areas west of the Cascades, including the Coast and the Cascade foothills, are particularly vulnerable. Rising water levels could threaten structures and roads, making travel hazardous.

Officials urge residents to avoid driving through flooded areas and to be cautious of rockfalls. Low-lying roads and urban drainage areas are especially prone to ponding. Emergency responders emphasize the importance of “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” when encountering flooded roadways.

Flood conditions are expected to persist through Sunday evening, with additional updates to follow. Residents are advised to monitor alerts from the National Weather Service and local emergency officials.
