Oregon – Low gray clouds are hanging over Portland this afternoon, but a steady warm-up is already underway, setting the stage for dry travel now before rain returns to the region within days.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures climb to around 61°F today with mostly sunny breaks developing later and calm winds shifting north in the afternoon . That gradual clearing signals a transition into a warmer and more stable pattern through the weekend.

Across Portland, Beaverton, and along I-5 and I-84, roads remain dry and visibility is high. It’s a good window for travel and outdoor plans. Still, cool morning temperatures in the low 40s mean some areas may feel brisk early before warming through midday.

Saturday brings a more noticeable jump, with highs reaching near 72°F under partly sunny skies. By Sunday, temperatures push even higher to around 73°F, though cloud cover increases through the day.

That cloud build is the first sign of change. By late Sunday night, a slight chance of showers develops, especially across the metro and nearby valleys. Roads could turn slick after several dry days, so plan extra time if traveling late.

Rain chances increase into Monday and Tuesday, with more consistent showers expected and reduced visibility during heavier periods.

Looking ahead, temperatures ease back into the 60s by midweek as unsettled weather lingers.
