Oak Brook, IL – A Chicago man accused of leading police on a high-speed chase and possessing a loaded firearm and fentanyl will remain in custody after a DuPage County judge denied his pre-trial release.

According to DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin, 28-year-old Christopher Ellis was charged with multiple felonies, including Armed Violence, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Authorities allege that on Monday afternoon, Ellis fled from Oak Brook police at speeds exceeding 100 mph before abandoning his vehicle in Hillside. He was later apprehended with a stolen, loaded Glock pistol and 11.4 grams of fentanyl.
