Cleveland, OH – The National Weather Service has issued an urgent update on the severe weather expected to impact northern Ohio today.

Starting at 11 a.m., a stronger batch of storms is anticipated to develop, bringing damaging winds and the potential for tornadoes. According to the National Weather Service, these storms will produce heavy rain, with 1-2 inches expected and localized areas receiving over 3 inches. This rapid rainfall could lead to significant flooding, especially in urban and poor drainage areas.

The flood watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. Residents in affected areas, including Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown, should prepare for quickly changing weather conditions. The storms are expected to move swiftly across the region, heightening the risk of flash flooding and tornadoes.
