Gaylord, Michigan – Patchy fog and light drizzle early Saturday morning are reducing visibility across northern Michigan, with impacts expected on key routes like I-75 and US-131 until conditions improve by midday.
According to the National Weather Service in Gaylord, fog and drizzle will diminish by late morning, giving way to increasing sunshine through the afternoon. High temperatures will range from 48 to 62 degrees, with the coolest readings near the Lake Michigan and Lake Huron shorelines.
Communities including Gaylord, Petoskey, and Alpena may see visibility drop below one mile early Saturday, especially in low-lying areas. Drivers should use headlights and allow extra stopping distance during the morning hours. Conditions improve significantly after noon as skies clear and roads dry.
Fog is expected to redevelop late Saturday night, with temperatures falling into the 31 to 38 degree range, creating another round of reduced visibility into early Sunday morning. Sunshine returns Sunday with highs climbing into the upper 60s inland.
A more active pattern arrives Monday, with increasing clouds and breezy conditions ahead of rain and possible thunderstorms developing Monday night into Tuesday. Additional updates are expected as that system approaches.
