Shreveport, Louisiana – Severe thunderstorms are expected to intensify by early evening Saturday, with the greatest impacts arriving between 7 p.m. and midnight across the Ark-La-Tex, where tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds could disrupt travel and power.
According to the National Weather Service in Shreveport, the highest threat zone is along and north of the Interstate 20 corridor, especially near the I-30 corridor spanning northeast Texas, southeast Oklahoma, and southwest Arkansas. Storms will be capable of producing wind gusts exceeding 70 mph, hail up to baseball size, and isolated tornadoes through the overnight hours.
Cities including Shreveport, Texarkana, Longview, and El Dorado are in the primary impact area. Major routes such as I-20, I-30, and I-49 may experience sudden hazardous conditions, including debris, reduced visibility, and water-covered ರಸ್ತೆ during heavier downpours. Power outages are possible if stronger storms move directly through urban centers.
Residents should have multiple ways to receive warnings, especially overnight, and identify a safe shelter location away from windows. Avoid unnecessary travel during peak storm hours and secure outdoor items ahead of arrival.
Storm activity is expected to gradually weaken after midnight, though additional alerts may be issued if conditions intensify or shift.
