Northern Michigan Faces Hazy Skies, Upper Peninsula Prepares for Cold Front

Gaylord, MI – Northern Michigan will experience hazy skies today as wildfire smoke drifts into the region. Temperatures will reach the upper 70s and low 80s with filtered sunshine throughout the day. The National Weather Service reports a high of 74 to 82 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, Gaylord, hazy conditions will persist until tonight, when skies become clear. Overnight temperatures will drop to 46 to 55 degrees. A cold front will bring storms by Thursday evening, with highs between 75 and 86 degrees expected.

In Marquette, residents can expect a sunny, breezy Wednesday. Temperatures will range between 74 and 84 degrees. However, a cold front arriving Thursday will bring showers, rumbles of thunder, and cooler temperatures.

Friday and Saturday will see lake-effect rain showers in the Upper Peninsula, with highs between 50 and 60 degrees. Northern Michigan should prepare for cooler and wetter conditions heading into the weekend. The National Weather Service advises keeping an eye on changing conditions as the cold front moves through the region.
