South Bend, Ind. – Northern Indiana will warm significantly early next week, with temperatures climbing into the low to mid-80s and only a slight chance of rain through Wednesday.

According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, an upper-level ridge will settle over the region, pushing daytime highs above 80 degrees by Monday and Tuesday. Friday may bring a brief 20% to 40% chance of scattered showers, but the weekend looks mainly dry with highs ranging from the upper 60s to upper 70s.

From Fort Wayne to Elkhart and down through Warsaw, residents can expect a stretch of dry, comfortable evenings and unseasonably warm afternoons. Low temperatures will hover between 48 and 54 degrees overnight. Drivers and outdoor workers are encouraged to stay hydrated and watch for sun glare during the morning and evening hours as skies remain mostly clear.

While no major hazards are forecast, this dry pattern could elevate fire danger in rural areas. Hoosiers are advised to check burn bans and limit open flames.

This warming trend is expected to last through at least midweek, with the next weather update expected by Sunday evening.
