Indiana – A gray wall of fog is hanging low across northern Indiana, cutting visibility to near zero in spots and slowing the morning drive across Fort Wayne.
According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m., with visibility dropping to 0.25 miles or less across northeast Indiana, southwest Michigan, and northwest Ohio. Roads like I-69 and US-30 are seeing reduced visibility, especially in low-lying areas and near rivers .
Conditions improve by mid-morning as fog lifts, and temperatures climb quickly. Fort Wayne will warm into the low 80s, offering a brief stretch of calm spring weather. However, that warmth fuels instability building across the region.
By late today into tonight, showers and thunderstorms develop, with rain chances rising to 80%. Some storms could bring gusty winds, small hail, and heavy rain. Drivers should expect slick roads and brief visibility drops during heavier downpours.
Flood concerns are also developing along area rivers, including the St. Joseph and Tiffin Rivers. Minor flooding is expected in some locations, especially near low-lying roads and agricultural land. Never drive through flooded roadways.
Saturday remains unsettled with showers and storms likely, followed by a cooler, quieter Sunday. Highs fall into the low 50s, with temperatures dipping near 30°F Sunday night. That raises the risk for frost and patchy slick spots if moisture lingers.
A warming trend returns early next week, with sunshine and highs climbing back into the 70s.
