Fort Wayne, IN — Today brings cooler temperatures across Northern Indiana, with highs only reaching 72 to 75 degrees. After a chilly start, Fort Wayne is expected to see sunshine throughout the day, warming to a comfortable 74 degrees by afternoon. The temperature tonight will drop to a brisk 47 to 52 degrees, reinforcing the cooler trend.

According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, warmer temperatures will return by midweek, with highs reaching the 80s by Wednesday and Thursday. However, hazardous swimming conditions persist on Lake Michigan beaches this morning. The high waves and moderate swim risks are particularly concerning for Berrien and LaPorte counties. Conditions are expected to improve by the afternoon.

Looking ahead, a chance of rain looms late Thursday into Friday. Residents and beachgoers should remain cautious of the lake’s changing conditions, especially in the early morning hours. By the weekend, temperatures will moderate, with highs in the 60s and 70s, making for pleasant autumn-like weather.
