Northern Idaho Crash Claims Life of 24-Year-Old Driver, Police Say

Shoshone County, ID – A 24-year-old woman from Post Falls was killed early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Coeur d’Alene River Road, according to the Idaho State Police.

The crash occurred around 2:50 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, near milepost 13 in Shoshone County. Police say the woman was driving a black Kia Sportage southbound when the vehicle failed to negotiate a turn, left the roadway, and overturned.

According to authorities, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.

The Idaho State Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. No additional details, including the woman’s name, have been released pending family notification.

Troopers from District 1 in Coeur d’Alene responded to the scene, which serves Benewah, Bonner, Boundary, Kootenai, and Shoshone counties.
