Portage, MI – Police and fire crews in Portage are investigating a two-vehicle crash that caused injuries and shut down part of a major roadway Sunday morning.
According to the Portage Department of Public Safety, officers and Life EMS responded to a personal injury accident on E Centre Avenue at Currier Drive. Authorities said eastbound lanes of E Centre Avenue are closed at S Westnedge Avenue due to the ongoing investigation.
Emergency responders were called to the scene shortly after the collision and remain on-site as traffic is being redirected. Officials have not released details on the number or severity of injuries.
Drivers are urged to avoid E Centre Avenue near Currier Drive and use alternate routes until the area reopens. The department has not provided an estimated time for when traffic will resume its normal flow.
