Grand Junction, CO – Snow and cold conditions are set to impact much of western Colorado this weekend, with a Winter Weather Advisory in effect from late Saturday night through Sunday. Northern and central mountain regions, including the Flat Tops, may see 4 to 10 inches of snow accumulation.

According to the National Weather Service, snow showers will begin overnight Saturday, creating hazardous travel conditions. Winds in some areas may reach up to 15 mph, further complicating visibility and driving. Those traveling on major routes, including Interstate 70 and U.S. Highway 40, should expect delays and prepare for icy conditions. Plan for additional travel time and carry winter safety kits in vehicles.

Saturday’s high in Grand Junction will hover near 41°F with increasing clouds by nightfall. A 30% chance of snow showers is forecast after midnight, with lows around 19°F. Snow will taper off by Sunday morning, giving way to partly sunny skies and a high near 37°F. Monday and Tuesday will remain mostly sunny with daytime highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.

Communities in northern Colorado should monitor weather updates and prepare for potential power outages in higher elevations. Skiers and outdoor enthusiasts are advised to check trail conditions and be aware of avalanche risks.
