Northern Arizona Weather: Storms to Bring Lightning, Hail Possible Until 8PM

Flagstaff, Arizona – Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected today across Northern Arizona, with the National Weather Service issuing an alert for potential severe weather. The storms are forecasted to develop between noon and 8 PM MST, bringing the possibility of lightning, small hail, and strong outflow gusts reaching 35 to 45 mph. Brief periods of heavy rainfall may also occur, making travel conditions hazardous in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, the storm activity will gradually diminish by Wednesday as drier air moves into the region. Following the stormy weather, Northern Arizona will experience a shift to clearer skies and warmer temperatures for the remainder of the week. Highs are expected to climb into the low to mid-80s by Wednesday and continue through Friday, providing a break from the recent wet conditions.

Flagstaff, in particular, can expect temperatures to reach 77°F today before rising to 82°F on Wednesday and 83°F on Thursday. The clear skies and pleasant temperatures will extend into the weekend, with sunny conditions forecasted for Friday and Saturday.
