Cleveland, OH – Light snow showers are sweeping across northeastern Ohio today, with accumulations reaching up to half an inch in some areas. Strong winds and freezing temperatures are contributing to slick road conditions, particularly on major routes like I-90 and I-71.
According to the National Weather Service, scattered snow showers will diminish by evening, with temperatures dropping to a low of 19 degrees. Gusts of up to 30 mph may cause drifting snow and reduced visibility for drivers, so caution is advised during commutes.
While Thursday is expected to be sunny but cold, with a high near 26, forecasters warn that a more significant snow system will move in Friday afternoon. Snow showers are likely through Friday night, with additional accumulations possible. Weekend highs will remain below freezing, keeping roads icy and hazardous.
Residents are encouraged to prepare for the weekend by checking forecasts, planning ahead for travel, and dressing warmly.
