Green Bay, WI – Wisconsin is preparing for potentially severe weather early next week as a cold front is expected to move through the region. The National Weather Service in Green Bay has indicated that the best potential for strong storms is likely across central to southern Wisconsin, with isolated storms possible in northern areas as well.
According to the National Weather Service, the next significant chance for severe weather will arrive on Monday afternoon and evening. The cold front crossing the region is expected to bring strong, damaging winds, hail, and heavy rainfall, which could lead to localized flooding. Lightning is also a concern with these storms.
Before the severe weather hits, Sunday will see rain clearing out of the region by mid-morning, leading to drier conditions for the latter part of the morning and early afternoon. As temperatures climb into the 80s, isolated storms could develop again in the afternoon, though most of the day is likely to remain dry.
The forecast for the week ahead shows a mix of conditions. Monday will see highs around 84°F with a 50% chance of storms. Tuesday’s temperatures will drop slightly to a high of 81°F with clearer skies. By midweek, temperatures will range from 75°F to 81°F with mostly sunny skies expected.
