Burleigh County, ND – A 41-year-old woman died in a crash on I-94 involving a semi-truck on Monday morning. The incident occurred when her Dodge Caravan lost control while traveling east on I-94 and crossed into the westbound lanes.

The Dodge struck the side of a Kenworth semi-truck, which was traveling westbound in the right lane. The impact forced the Dodge into the trailer’s side, and it was then hit by the rear trailer tires.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency personnel transported her body to a local funeral home. The semi-truck driver was unharmed and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

I-94 westbound lanes were closed for approximately two hours following the collision. Traffic was diverted onto Old Highway 10 while authorities conducted their investigation.

The Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. They reported that the woman was not wearing her seatbelt. No charges have been filed against the semi-truck driver.
