Annapolis, MD – A Maryland State Police trooper fatally struck a pedestrian Sunday evening in Anne Arundel County.

The accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Solomons Island Road, near Route 50. Authorities said the victim, a 32-year-old woman, died at the scene. Her identity is being withheld until her family is notified.

According to Maryland State Police, the trooper was on duty when the accident happened. It is unclear whether the victim was attempting to cross the road at the time of the collision. Emergency personnel responded immediately but were unable to save her.
