North Aurora, Ill. — On Saturday, July 19, the Village of North Aurora will host its first Dog Days of Summer event at North Aurora Riverfront Park. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., pet owners can celebrate their pets or adopt a new pet to take home.
To celebrate the Dog Days of Summer event, the Village of North Aurora will host a pet parade and contests for pets with prizes. The village will also bring in local rescue groups who will have available dogs to be adopted on-site. Other pet-themed vendors will be present as well as sponsors for the event. Sponsors include Mr. Scott’s Dog Spa, VCA Aurora Animal Hospital and Randall Orchard Crossing Animal Hospital. Other local pet-themed businesses and dog rescues can still contact the Village of Aurora to be included at the event.
Owners can also pre-register their pets to participate in the Pet Parade and select up to two categories in the parade for judging. Pre-registration begins on the Village of Aurora website on June 10.
