Binghamton, NY – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for parts of New York and Pennsylvania from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, with mixed precipitation expected to create hazardous travel conditions.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Binghamton, up to two inches of snow and sleet could accumulate, along with up to one-tenth of an inch of ice. The advisory affects Broome, Delaware, and Sullivan counties in New York, as well as Lackawanna, Susquehanna, Pike, Northern Wayne, and Southern Wayne counties in Pennsylvania.
Icy roads, particularly on bridges and overpasses, could make Thursday morning commutes dangerous. Motorists are urged to slow down and use caution when driving. Pedestrians should also be aware of slick sidewalks and stairs, which increase the risk of falls.
For updated road conditions, New York travelers can call 511, while Pennsylvania drivers can check 511pa.com.
