New York, NY – New Yorkers experienced a frigid morning Friday, with temperatures in some interior areas plummeting into the 20s. However, a gradual warming trend is expected, with the afternoon bringing temperatures back into the 60s across much of the region.
According to the U.S. National Weather Service, parts of the interior saw some of the coldest temperatures, but the metro area should see more moderate conditions with highs reaching the mid-60s today. A coastal flood advisory is in effect until 11 a.m., and drivers are urged to stay cautious on low-lying roads like the FDR Drive, as potential flooding could disrupt morning traffic.
By the weekend, a warming trend will continue. Saturday will see highs near 67°F, with abundant sunshine, while Sunday promises a pleasant 71°F. Nights will remain cool, with lows in the 50s, but skies will stay clear, making for an ideal weekend for outdoor plans.
Looking ahead, the first part of next week will be mild, with Monday seeing temperatures peak at 75°F. Light winds and sunny skies are forecasted to persist well into midweek, offering a stretch of beautiful fall weather.
