Philadelphia, Pa. – A refreshing stretch of dry, comfortable weather will continue across eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and northeastern Maryland through Saturday, offering a welcome break from recent heat and humidity. While inland conditions remain ideal for outdoor activities, beachgoers will need to remain cautious due to an ongoing rip current threat along the coast.
According to the National Weather Service in Philadelphia/Mount Holly, a few lingering showers will move away from the New Jersey coastline early Thursday morning, with mostly sunny skies and noticeably lower humidity settling in across the region for the remainder of the day. Afternoon highs will range from 74 to 84 degrees with a light northerly breeze and an afternoon sea breeze near the coast.
Pleasant conditions continue Friday with highs between 76 and 85 degrees under partly to mostly sunny skies. Low humidity will persist, making for comfortable conditions across much of the region.
Saturday brings another dry and mostly sunny day with highs again reaching 76 to 85 degrees. The National Weather Service says the comfortable weather pattern is expected to continue through much of the weekend before warmer conditions gradually return.
Despite the favorable inland weather, a moderate risk of dangerous rip currents remains in effect Thursday and Friday for the New Jersey and Delaware beaches. Even experienced swimmers can be caught in strong currents. Beach visitors should swim near lifeguards, heed posted warnings and avoid entering the water if conditions appear hazardous.
