New Jersey State Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Pittsgrove Township, NJ – New Jersey State Police are asking for the public’s help in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on US Highway 40 on September 18. At around 2:56 a.m., a white sedan allegedly struck pedestrian Allen Miller Jr., a 45-year-old man from Vineland, and fled the scene.

According to investigators, Miller sustained fatal injuries. Police said the vehicle was traveling eastbound near milepost 20.5 in Pittsgrove Township, Salem County, when the crash occurred.

On October 2, detectives arrested 23-year-old Christopher Poore of Bridgeton, NJ. Poore is charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and tampering with evidence. Police released Poore pending a future court date.

Authorities urge anyone with information on the crash or events before or after to contact Troop “A” Bridgeton Station at 856-451-0101. Anonymous tips are welcome.

The investigation remains active as police work to identify further details.
