Joliet, IL – A 42-year-old man was fatally shot at a residence on Wenberg Street in Joliet on Saturday. Officers responded to reports of shots fired at 3:49 p.m. and discovered the victim with multiple gunshot wounds near the entrance of the home.
According to the Joliet Police Department, officers rendered medical aid before paramedics arrived. The man was transported to Silver Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Detectives and officers canvassed the area, discovering shell casings at the scene.
No additional victims were found, and police are investigating the motive for the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone with information or video footage to contact the Joliet Police Department or Will County Crime Stoppers. The investigation is ongoing, and no suspects have been identified.
