Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — Spotty showers could move into coastal New Jersey and Delaware late Saturday afternoon, creating brief slick roads and reduced visibility between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. in Atlantic City, Toms River, Cape May and Dover.
According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, a 15 to 30 percent chance of showers will remain focused near the coast through the evening, while inland areas including Philadelphia and Allentown stay mostly dry under cloudy skies.
This is part of a broader system keeping temperatures cooler than normal while a weak offshore disturbance brushes the coastline, limiting rainfall but still producing localized travel impacts.
Light rain may briefly dampen roadways along the Garden State Parkway and coastal routes, with water collecting in low-lying intersections and underpasses near Atlantic City and Cape May, especially during the late afternoon travel window from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Farther inland, attention shifts overnight as temperatures fall into the low 30s in the Poconos, including Mount Pocono and Stroudsburg, where frost and a possible freeze could damage vegetation and create slick spots on untreated bridges.
Drivers should slow on wet roads near the coast and watch for frost on elevated surfaces early Sunday in northeast Pennsylvania.
The most immediate travel impact will occur along the coast between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., when showers briefly reduce visibility and road traction.
