Auburn, N.H. – Police safely stopped a Danville man driving the wrong way on Route 101 late Wednesday night.

New Hampshire State Troopers responded at 11:03 p.m. to reports of a small sedan traveling east in the westbound lanes near Auburn. To protect drivers, troopers coordinated with local agencies to slow traffic and locate the vehicle.

By 11:09 p.m., officers found the sedan in Raymond and safely brought it to a stop. The driver, Albert Weigert, 68, was evaluated at the scene and later transported to Elliott Hospital. Authorities suspect a medical episode contributed to the incident.

Weigert faces charges of negligent operation and wrong-way driving. He is set to appear in Candia District Court on March 15, 2025, at 8:15 a.m.

Police thanked witnesses and officers from Auburn, Epping, and Raymond for their quick actions. Anyone with additional information can contact Troop A at (603) 223-4381.
