Nashua, N.H. – A serious crash on the F.E. Everett Turnpike early Sunday led to the hospitalization of a 21-year-old woman from Nashua.

At 5:01 a.m., New Hampshire State Police responded to the crash at mile marker 3.2 on the northbound side of the turnpike in Nashua. Authorities discovered a blue Toyota Matrix that had collided with a bridge abutment on the right side of the road. The driver, identified as Molly Rodwell, was trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters from Nashua arrived quickly and successfully freed Rodwell from the wreckage. She was then airlifted by medical helicopter to a Massachusetts hospital. Her injuries were serious but not life-threatening, according to officials.

State police, assisted by local law enforcement and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, closed all northbound lanes for approximately 40 minutes to facilitate the helicopter landing.

Investigators continue to examine the cause of the crash. Anyone with information is urged to contact Trooper Abigail Wells at 603-230-3192 or Abigail.A.Wells@dos.nh.gov.
