Ashland, NH — A 19-year-old man is in custody after a high-speed police chase on Saturday that led him to crash into two New Hampshire State Police cruisers. The chase began at 7:44 p.m. on Interstate 93 when Trooper Nathaniel Perkins spotted the suspect’s Ford Focus speeding at 104 mph. Perkins attempted a traffic stop, but the driver ignored him, turned off the vehicle’s lights, and continued.
According to New Hampshire State Police, the suspect entered a residential area in Holderness shortly after, where he struck a cruiser, putting officers at risk. Officers from multiple local departments joined in pursuit. Over the next 45 minutes, the suspect made repeated attempts to evade capture, maneuvering through multiple locations and even attempting to strike police vehicles intentionally.
The chase ended when the suspect, identified as Jack Dobbins, 19, of Waterville Valley, struck a second cruiser and his vehicle became disabled. Officers apprehended Dobbins, charging him with multiple felonies, including reckless conduct and disobeying an officer. He remains in custody at Grafton County Corrections.
