Manchester, NH – A Salem man suffered serious injuries Saturday afternoon after his SUV rolled over multiple times on Interstate 293 in Manchester, according to New Hampshire State Police.

According to New Hampshire State Police, troopers responded at approximately 4:54 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, to a reported rollover crash on I-293 southbound near Exit 2.

The preliminary investigation determined that Michael Meucci, 44, of Salem, was driving a 2006 Volvo XC-90 when he may have been distracted by an unrestrained dog inside the vehicle. Investigators said Meucci lost control while exiting the F.E. Everett Turnpike off-ramp onto I-293 southbound, causing the SUV to roll over multiple times.

Authorities said Meucci was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected through the vehicle’s sunroof during the crash. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The crash reduced southbound traffic on I-293 to one lane for approximately 45 minutes while emergency crews worked to clear the scene.

Troopers were assisted by the Manchester Fire Department, Bedford Fire Department, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to contact Trooper Nathan Belanger at (603) 738-7260.
