Nashua, NH – New Hampshire State Police are asking for the public’s help in solving the 2009 homicide of John R. Wiegmann, who was found strangled to death in his motel room in Nashua. The victim, 59, had been staying at the Motel 6 on Progress Avenue for several days before his murder.

Wiegmann’s body was discovered on May 3, 2009, after he had checked into the motel a day earlier. He had been seen entering the premises on the evening of May 2, around 7:30-8:00 PM, getting into a green minivan described as having a 3-4 inch diameter sunspot on the passenger-side front fender in front of the mirror. Earlier that evening, Wiegmann had visited local restaurants and bars while wearing a green t-shirt, jeans, a brown windbreaker, and carrying a cane.

According to New Hampshire State Police, Wiegmann had lived in several locations, including Utah, Las Vegas, California, and Arizona, before recently returning to the Nashua area to be near his family. Authorities continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.
